Jenny has lived in Elstead with her husband David since 1997; they have 4 grown up children and 9 grandchildren.
Before having her family, Jenny worked as Cabin Crew for British Airways and was previously employed by Surrey, Oxfordshire and Berkshire County Councils as Youth Leader.
She then spent 23 years working in Elderly and Community Services at Woking Borough Council, a strong passion of hers. She is a volunteer for Help in Elstead, running Elstead Good Companions and is a Dementia champion delivering information sessions to improve understanding and awareness.
The 6 years prior to achieving Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing, Culture, Parks and Countryside she engaged in many Waverley Committees, which included such roles as: Licensing, Overview & Scrutiny (Vice Chairman) and Audit & Planning (Eastern & Central – Chairman). This gave her an essential understanding of the role of Local Authority within our community and enables her to provide a balanced service to her Ward and a percipient approach when conducting herself on the Executive.
During her free time, Jenny sings for the local choir which she thoroughly enjoys. Moreover, she is extremely involved in the community and enjoys looking after her grandchildren.
